Necessities
The only necessities for breastfeeding? are a mother and baby! However, we’ve compiled information on some of the? supplies you may find useful for breastfeeding. We’ve even scouted around Greenwood to find everything you will need to save you the leg work! Please share with us any additions/deletions you might find while you’re shopping. We want to hear about the products you like and dislike.
The Self Regional Healthcare Women’s Center would like to introduce “A Mother’s Touch”. This is a breastfeeding store/ rental station. We have 10 hospital grade Medela rental pumps and also sell the Pump in Style Advanced backpack and shoulder bag at competitive prices. All purchases from the store are tax free, so you will see a savings. We also carry miscellaneous items such as breast shells, nipple shields, hydrogel dressings and more. Breastpumps

- Kmart carries manual, battery, and electric pumps ranging from $20-$120. Brands include Avent and Evenflo.
- Walmart carries Evenflo and Gerber breastpumps for around $40.
- Walgreens carries Avent Isis breastpumps.
Storage devices (bags, trays, cooler bags, etc.)
- Walmart carries Gerber and Lansinoh storage bags for $6.
Nursing Pads
- Kmart carries Avent UltraComfort, Evenflo styles, Johnson’s, and Lansinoh disposable nursing pads ranging from $5-$8.
- Walmart carries Curity and Lansinoh disposable nursing pads ranging from $3-$8. Walmart also carries Gerber Soothing Patches for breast care for $13.
- Pug Lips (www.puglips.com) carries reusable hemp jersey nursing pads by Happy Heiny for 3 pairs for $11.50, and free local pickup for residents of Greenwood County.

- Kmart carries Lansinoh lanolin based products (cream and wipes) and Aquaphor for mother and baby ranging from $3-$10

- Pug Lips (www.puglips.com) carries Natural Nipple Butter by Earth Mama Angel Baby for $14.95, and free local pickup for residents of Greenwood County. This product is all natural, organic, vegan, and doesn’t leave a heavy, sticky residue.

- Walmart carries a CuddleU pillow for less than $25.
Apparel
- JCPenney carries breastfeeding bras and gowns, but they are no longer stocked in the store. They may be purchased through the catalog or JCPenney.com/maternity
- Kmart carries Playtex and New Additions nursing bras for around $10 each
- Walmart has a nice selection of Announcement nursing bras ranging from $8 - $12. They also carry BestForm with Child nursing gowns from $12.

What do Mom’s who know say?
Mother’s in the Greenwood ABCs agree that Lansinoh breast pads are the top choice. The group selected Lansinoh and Gerber for favorite storage bags. Aquaphor and Lansinoh lanolin creams were top choices for nipple and baby care. The Walmart Additions nursing bras are the cheapest, most comfortable, and less detectable under clothing.
